Your receptionOn the water
A wedding reception at Oar has the lake and the reserve as its backdrop. With exclusive use of the venue, you and your guests have the whole site: the dining room, the terrace under the sails, the bar and the view.
Choose a sit-down dinner served alternate drop, a cocktail reception with canapés, or a buffet feast, with drinks packages from two to four hours and a dessert board to finish.

Fairy lights under the sails, drinks by the water and the whole venue to yourselves. Oar hosts engagement parties too, along with birthdays, anniversaries and every other kind of private function.

How many wedding guests can Oar hold?
Up to 150 guests standing for a cocktail reception, or a seated dinner for 100 in the dining room with another 50 on the deck under the sails, with the whole venue to yourselves. Your event coordinator will plan the layout with you.
Is the venue exclusive on our wedding night?
Yes. In the evenings Oar is a private venue with exclusive use of the whole site, so your wedding is the only event we are looking after.
What menus can you offer for a wedding?
A two-course sit-down dinner served alternate drop ($65 per person), a cocktail canapé package (from $35) or a buffet feast (from $70), with dessert boards and cakeage if you bring your own cake. See the function packages.
What about drinks?
Drinks packages run for two, three or four hours ($35, $50 or $60 per person), with South Australian sparkling, white, rosé and red wine, beer, cider and soft drinks.
Where is Oar, and is there parking for guests?
Oar is at 100 Military Road, West Lakes Shore, on the lake at the front of the Rowing SA complex. There are car parks in the complex right out the front, parking on Military Road with two large car parks on either side, and parking in Annie Watt Circuit with a short walk down the path.
