Oar is a lakeside cafe and restaurant at West Lakes, right on the water at the front of the Rowing SA complex in West Lakes Shore.

Coffee is on from seven and breakfast runs all day, with lunch until 2:30pm. Take a table on the deck under the sails, looking straight across the water, or inside where the oars hang on the wall.

Coffee House comes first in our name, and the machine is on from 7am every day.

Take a flat white out to the deck, a long black down to the water, or an iced latte when the sun is out.

In the evenings Oar becomes a private function venue on the water for wedding receptions, engagement parties, birthdays and corporate events, with the lake and the reserve around you.

Up to 150 guests standing, or 100 seated inside and 50 outside. Cocktail canapés, a sit-down dinner or a buffet feast from our chefs, drinks packages, and an event coordinator for the night.

Where is Oar?

On the lake at 100 Military Road, West Lakes Shore, at the front of the Rowing SA complex. We are in Adelaide’s western suburbs, a short drive from Henley Beach, Grange, Semaphore and Port Adelaide. Directions and parking.

What are your opening hours?

Every day, 7am to 3pm. Coffee is on from 7am and the kitchen cooks until 2:30pm.

Do you serve breakfast all day?

Yes. Breakfast and brunch run all day, alongside the lunch menu, until the kitchen closes at 2:30pm. See breakfast and brunch and lunch at Oar.

Can I book a table?

Yes. Reserve online in a minute, or call 0403 573 273. For ten or more, please call.

Is Oar licensed?

Yes. We pour South Australian wine by the glass and bottle, cocktails such as espresso martinis, mimosas and Aperol spritzes, and beer and cider.

Do you have a kids menu?

Yes, with pancakes, chicken nuggets, a cheese burger and more at $12, plus kids’ juices and milkshakes. For coffee there is oat, almond, soy, coconut and lactose-free milk, and we are happy to hear about any allergies or dietary needs.

Is there parking?

Yes. There is parking in the complex car park right out the front, including 15-minute takeaway bays, and on Military Road, with two large car parks on either side.

Can we hire Oar for a function or a wedding?

Yes. After 3pm the whole venue can be yours, for up to 150 guests standing, or 100 seated inside and 50 outside. See function venue hire, function packages and weddings at Oar.
